Don't they all look intense! It's been a busy day today with the StayBlackpool Blog Off.
StayBlackpool, assisted by Jane Thompson from Flower Design and Jonny Draper from Jonny Draper Photography, we have been leading the way in a Blogging revolution for Blackpool and the Fylde Coast.
The aim of the day was to get members set up with a Blog, design the layout, and have them write their very first entry onto the BLOG.
We used Googles own BLOGGING system, BLOGGER. We mainly use BLOGGER as google likes it so much! Google uses the entries in BLOGS from BLOGGER and crawls the postings for search terms. It is also a good place to start for beginners, as BLOGGER does everything for you.
Personally I prefer the customisation of WordPress, however, I think that this will come with BLOGGER.
Jane talked about her BLOG for Flower Design, and she showed us her statistics through the site stat counter. Statistics are a really good way of finding out more about your potential customers.
Jonny Draper talked us through adding pictures to a BLOG, and he even managed to get the pictures taken on the day onto the members BLOG's to give the first entry a bit of interest.

The facilities at the City Learning Centre are absolutely fantastic, and I would urge anyone who hasn't been to take a look, they really are fantastic. Thanks to Gillian and all the team at the CLC for facilitating our visit today.
BIG thank you to Jane Thompson and Jonny Draper, without these guys we couldn't have made today half as interesting.
If you want to add your interesting BLOG to our BLOGLIST please email peter.taylor@stayblackpool.com

A big wave to Paul and Annette from the Burleigh (second photo down) and looking intense. Hope everyone had a brilliant day.
Will pop up for a drink at the usual place later tonight to see if you are in!!
Blogging may look intimidating and complicated but I promise it does get a lot easier as you become familiar with the web site controls. It's a bit like riding a bike, you are worried at first that you are going to fall off and damage it and yourself so it is offputting, but as soon as you get the hang of it you are out on it every single day.
The Blogger platform is a good one and although a little limited in what the more advanced user may want is the bees knees for those starting out.
Wordpress is certainly the way to go in the future though as the pre built templates will allow you to sculp web pages, headers and photo's exactly as you want.
Think of the savings you can make if you are able to do that all yourself and not employ professionals to do it for you.
Our blog is going from strength to strength and it providing an definate impetus for our own site to move the google listings.
Keep it up everyone and we look forward to reading lots more new content soon.
All blogger need to do now is add a spell checker on the comments section ;-)
Thank you very much for today Peter and all I learn't alot today hopefully my blog will be looking good in next couple of weeks once i've had chance to have a play round with it to get it right..

What an excellent day, so much enthusiasm, i can't wait to read some fabulous Blackpool Blogs
Just noticed the page title just under the date above. Blogging is spelt incorrectly.
You might want to change that Peter as it puts a whole new slant on the theme of the day :-)
